BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (BWXT NEC) is a supplier of nuclear fuel and fuel channel components, services, equipment and parts for the CANDU nuclear power industry with over 500 workers across Peterborough, Toronto, and Arnprior.
Attention April 2026 Graduates! We are looking for a New Graduate Engineer for our Peterborough, Ontario site. This is a 3-year rotational program exposing the successful candidate to multiple roles in our Peterborough location. The rotation includes 3–4 engineering assignments (approximately 12 months each) in areas such as Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical Engineering, Pressure Boundary & Analysis Engineering, Systems Engineering Software Engineering, Project Management, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering. Assignments depend on the candidate\'s skillset, desire, and company business demands.
BWXT NEC\'s Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group designs, manufactures, tests, supplies parts, and services on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold globally. We are the original designer of automated systems enabling 24/7 on-power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry\'s most challenging problems. Our equipment is used in most Canadian nuclear plants and supports carbon-free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.

Reporting to the Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Manager, responsibilities include supporting the technical direction for projects and interfacing with internal and external customers. The Instrumentation and Controls Engineering department focuses on control systems and instrumentation for Fuel Handling Systems, plant tooling, medical isotope systems, and remote delivery machines. The department provides engineering design, troubleshooting, maintenance and support, using tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and IntEC to create concept drawings, detailed designs, BOMs, wiring diagrams and related documentation.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $90,000 per year. The final offer will depend on factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and other business considerations. The total compensation package may include a bonus and a comprehensive benefits program, details of which will be provided with an employment offer.
