Job Description

Custom Fabricators & Machinist's non-destructive testing (NDT) department is seeking a NDT Technician to join our team in NB. The role involves setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, conducting tests to ensure quality, and detecting defects using various NDT methods. Technicians will be responsible for establishing examination techniques, adhering to safety regulations, and reporting test results. Making it essential for candidates to have a strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • The NDE Technician is responsible for safely and accurately conducting non-destructive testing and reporting on same in a timely manner.
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct inspections with appropriate NDT technique(s)/SOP’s.
  • Interpret, evaluate, and accurately document results.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which they are certified.
  • Must be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Obtain and analyze information skillfully.
  • Edit and present numerical data effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Other related duties as required by the Branch lead or supervisor.
Qualifications
  • CGSB certification as a minimum in NDT methods (Level II MT/PT/ Level I UT and a CEDO).
  • RT Level II, and or UT Level II, as well as CWB Level I or II and API Certifications would be a definite additional asset.
  • Technical background in NDT methods/procedures, and knowledge of NDT equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with co‑workers and clients.
  • Attention to details and accurate report writing.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Exceptional safety culture and quality awareness.
  • Able to do physical work, work at heights and within confined spaces.
