Position Details

Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation – Government of Newfoundland and Labrador

This position prepares and conducts tours of historic site exhibits, inside and outside, including a 1.5 km trail to the archaeological site; responds to visitor inquiries; assists in the planning, development and delivery of the historic site interpretation program and special events; assists in historical/cultural research; liaises with interest groups; maintains daily reports and statistics and provides the visitor with accurate information about the site, exhibits and special events as well as performs other related duties as required.

Responsibilities

Same as Position Details: prepares and conducts tours of historic site exhibits (including outdoor components), responds to visitor inquiries, assists in planning and delivering the historic site interpretation program and special events, conducts historical/cultural research, liaises with interest groups, maintains daily reports and statistics, and provides accurate information about the site, exhibits and events; performs other related duties as required.

Screening Criteria
  1. Post-Secondary coursework in History, Folklore, Cultural Geography or Newfoundland Studies (equivalencies will be considered)
  2. Experience in historical interpretation
  3. Experience in a leadership role
  4. Heritage Interpreter or SuperHost/Worldhost Training (asset)
  5. Experience with performing arts (asset)
