The Multimedia Designer is a key creative contributor responsible for visual storytelling, brand consistency, and production of high-impact content across digital and print platforms. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role collaborates across departments and with external partners to bring Longboard’s brand, products, and project stories to life through photography, video, and content creation. The Multimedia Designer ensures that all visual communications not only align with Longboard’s brand standards, but also elevate our partners and meet the unique needs of each audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Creative Strategy & Client Collaboration
- Consult with internal stakeholders and creative partners to establish the overall look, graphic elements, and communication goals of each project.
- Translate creative briefs into effective visual concepts that support both Longboard’s brand strategy and partner visibility.
- Assess client needs, project timelines, and available resources to determine the most appropriate medium (video, photo, graphic, audio) for marketing deliverables.
- Continuously evaluate new content opportunities, platforms, and formats that align with Longboard’s business strategy and audience engagement.
- Visual Content Production & Asset Management
- Plan, shoot, and edit photography and video content for web, print, and social platforms, ensuring brand alignment and high production quality.
- Produce a range of assets, including:
- High-resolution photos for print (product catalogs, brochures, one-pagers)
- Educational and promotional videos
- Audio content for webinars and podcasts
- Develop storyboards, sketches, and visual concepts using both traditional tools and multimedia design software to guide production.
- Design, Layout & Visual Identity
- Create graphics, layouts, and supporting visual elements using Adobe Creative Suite and other digital tools.
- Work with the marketing team to prepare visual assets for both digital and print campaigns.
- Maintain and organize digital asset libraries, including photography archives and categorized project gallery.
- External Creative Team Development
- Build and manage a trusted network of photographers and videographers across North America.
- Write creative briefs and provide brand-aligned visual guidelines to maintain consistency across all outsourced content.
- Oversee subcontracted creative work and ensure that deliverables meet Longboard’s visual standards, timelines, and campaign goals.
- Campaign Execution & Media Production
- Coordinate all stages of multimedia production across various formats and platforms.
- Support the marketing team with ongoing projects such as:
- Social media reels, Q&A videos, and interview content
- Long-form brand, install, product knowledge and case study videos
- Webinars, podcasts, and other interactive media
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop PR and media content, ensuring alignment with larger brand initiatives.
- Look for opportunities to collaborate with compatible media partners to promote our brand and network with established individuals or groups within our industry.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Multimedia Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in content creation, including video production, photography, and graphic design.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated experience translating briefs into visual concepts and completed deliverables.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including asset tagging, folder structuring, and version control.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments and time zones.
Preferred Skills
- Experience leading or coordinating subcontracted creative teams.
- Understanding of architecture, construction, and B2B industrial products.
- Proficiency in storyboarding, lighting design, or sound recording.
- Experience with podcast production, livestream setup, or webinar coordination.
