Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

What is the Opportunity?

As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Support planning and execution of field assignments working in a team environment under the guidance of the Metrology Lead.
  • Proficient in the operation of metrology, surveying, alignment, layout using measurement instruments.
  • CAD modeling in various software Spatial Analyzer, PolyWorks, SolidWorks, AutoCAD
  • Complete all associated documentation and forms within a Construction Work Plan.
  • Generate metrology reports in the approved formats.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking, problem solving, analytical skills. Able to work prioritize and work tight deadlines.
  • General Knowledge of QA Standards ISO 9001:2008, CSA N258.0-08, Z299.3, Z299.4.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members, internal customers, and suppliers.
  • Strong Inspection background as a Metrologist.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Foundational knowledge of surveying techniques, including the use of total stations.
  • Proficient in operating various CAD software platforms, with experience in 3D modeling.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience with point cloud data and laser tracking/scanning technologies is considered an asset.
  • Post secondary education in a Civil Engineering or Civil discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skill.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Thrive in a fast paced-environment.
