Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Rotating Equipment Engineer to join the Unconventional Resources (UR) Producing Department. The UR Producing Department Operations is responsible for operating all surface facilities, including field wells and processing facilities. The role will operate well manifolds, provide field services, maintain facilities, reduce equipment downtime, perform preventive maintenance, provide maintenance services, and support technical engineering and inspection activities. Your primary role is to lead mechanical design review, oversee construction, and lead commissioning and testing activities for new shale gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the Operation and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot and fix rotating equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Develop engineering design packages for new installations and upgrade projects.
  • Review project proposals and detailed design packages for new facilities.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of new facilities, as well as Turnaround and Inspection (T&I).
  • Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.
  • Analyze system performance and identify energy-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure quality, cost-effective, and timely solutions for upgrades.
  • Test and pilot new technologies.
  • Ensure full Health, Safety, and Environment compliance.
  • Report and analyze key performance indicators.
  • Make recommendations for technical and economic optimization of existing facilities.
  • Lead feasibility and profitability studies for new facilities.
  • Contribute to Business Unit strategy.
  • Assist in training, development, and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Provide analysis and interpretation to support projects, processes, and financing related to Saudi Aramco capital investments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university; MS is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license / desirable but not essential.
  • At least 15 years of work experience, including 10 years in industrial operation facilities; shale gas facility experience preferred. Familiarity with modular skid-mounted units.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME and API), including API-STD-610 and API-617.
  • Experience creating / modifying PFDs and P&IDs.
  • Experience troubleshooting and major repair of oil and gas rotating equipment (e.g., air compressors, pumps, diesel generators).
  • Experience creating schematics and piping diagrams.
  • Experience conducting failure analysis and recommending solutions for failed rotating equipment.
  • Experience in rotating equipment and piping field installation, commissioning, and testing.
  • Experience in specifying piping and equipment layouts.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, process technologies, supply and product logistics, and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to support reports, studies, and management decisions.
