Title: Mechanical & Hydraulics Supervisor
Location: Sault Ste Marie - Ontario - Canada

Responsibilities
- Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices. To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections and participate in the investigation process. Implement the preventive/corrective actions. Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.
- Responsible for performance management of direct reports by consistently applying the CBA and annual performance reviews.
- Optimizes reliability and maintainability of equipment by defining the maintenance strategy for each system, developing and supervising the execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan, ensuring systematic failure, problem and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions and generating improvement opportunities, providing technical support to emergency crews and staff areas.
- Maintain a visible presence in the mill to foster employee engagement, communication and assess work process effectiveness within the team. Leading hands-on technical support on the floor.
- Draws up the maintenance cost budget and keeps costs within agreed limits.
- Guarantees technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock.
- Manages and updates the maintenance information system and technical documentation, keeping record of the information related to their area.
- Supports the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the startup of new pieces of equipment. In addition, support other areas in the definitions related to their area of responsibility.
- Interacts with internal and/or external contacts with a higher level of autonomy.
- Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
- Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops their staff and manages HR related activities in line with HR norms and procedures. Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to their area.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands-on engineering technician is an asset.
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Trade (433a), Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures.
- Previous experience with SAP considered an asset.
Scope of Machines & Equipment
Finishing: Industrial online pipe cutting machine, threading machine for oil and gas pipes, hydro tester equipment for oil and gas pipes, online coupling buck on machine for oil and gas pipes, walking beam handling equipment, roll conveyor lines, gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, grease lubrication systems, and oil hydraulic systems, pumps and valves (directional and proportional).
Schedule & Working Conditions
- 8hr Days – Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on business needs.
- Work is performed in a steel manufacturing mill.
