Job description
Tools Required

Basic tools, as an example, Allen keys, hammer, wrenches, and adjustable wrench.

Certifications required

LOTO, Crane and Forklift. Certificates must be current (not expired) and from a reputable third party training company.

PPE required

Safety shoes, safety glasses, LOTO and bump caps to be supplied by contractor. Some facilities require hearing protection but earplugs will be made available if necessary.

Core Responsibilities
  • To follow established manufacturing procedures, work instructions and direction from the Manufacturing Leader(s) with respect to all assigned work functions and activities;
  • To examine and review all relevant blueprints, schematic drawings and layouts to determine appropriate work procedures and the necessary sequence of work operations;
  • To assemble and install component parts and equipment into machinery being built using various hand and power tools;
  • When required, operate metal working machines to file, grind, tack weld, drill or turn machine parts to dimensional specifications;
  • Assist other trades (electricians, pipefitters, robot programmers, PLC programmers) during the try‑out and de‑bug stages, making all necessary adjustments or alterations to equipment and tooling;
  • Perform rigging and dismantling functions when the job is ready to be shipped;
  • When required, assist in the re‑assembly of equipment at the customer's site and make all necessary adjustments or alterations;
  • When requested, provide technical support or feedback related to completed equipment or systems to company personnel;
  • Provide technical assistance in the installation of equipment at customer locations for extended periods of time when required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Completed High School Diploma with additional college training preferred
  • Knowledge of the machine tool build industry
  • Ability to safely operate, and obtain necessary certification to operate, equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.
  • Ability to travel outside of Canada for installation support at various customer sites
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment
