Position information

Position: Maintenance Technician

Status: Permanent, full-time position

Location: 950 Gérard-Cadieux Blvd, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC J6T 6L4

Start Date: As soon as possible

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Shift Information: Regular daytime schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with overtime as needed.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Implement the maintenance program based on planning/scheduling.
  • Plan maintenance and PM repairs—including all equipment at the plant level.
  • Responsible for the maintenance work area and all tools.
  • Manage service, supplier, and contractor relationships in accordance with values and objectives.
  • Maintain and repair maintenance workshop equipment.
  • Ability to implement improvements in production increases, cost savings, and improved safety.
  • Maintain and execute the CMMS program.
  • Work with the central maintenance department as needed, including field mechanics and electricians.
  • Provide support to engineering projects as needed at the facility.
  • May be required to travel to neighbouring plants to provide additional maintenance.
  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity and presentation of maintenance data for internal/external ISO audits.
Qualifications
  • Degree in industrial mechanics, electromechanics, or provincial site mechanic license.
  • A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Intermediate electrical skills (low/high voltage troubleshooting, drawing interpretation, etc.).
  • Ability to work outdoors in all environments.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Some knowledge of forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes (signaling).
  • Experience entering confined spaces.
  • Experience in a construction environment—proof of ASP safety course—an asset.
  • Ability to work outside of regular hours and overtime for emergencies.
  • Knowledge of production process equipment and controls; Delta V automation, PLC automation, pumps, valves, piping, heating tracing electric/oil/steam), thermal oil heaters, steam boilers, and various electrical systems.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work alone or in small teams.
  • Strong computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook, etc.), and experience with CMMS systems is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of ISO and 6S standards is an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have personal hand tools suitable for all aspects of basic maintenance tasks.
