TheMarketLeader, Energy (East)is responsible for overseeing and leading thetechnical Energy practice in Eastern Canada. This includesleading projects andbeing responsible forcertain accounts and engagements,as well as the overallcompliance with national andlocal regulations, and maintaining high standards of service reliability andcustomer satisfaction.

What youcan expectto do here:

  • You will be the TechnicalMarket Leader for Energy, reporting to Vice-President-Energy
  • You will be responsible forleading andgrowing the Energypractice in Eastern Canada
  • You will act asathoughtleader, applying advanced in-depth andbroad knowledge andbe externally recognized as atop “go-to”resource intheir field
  • You will make decisionson highlycomplex issues regarding work approach forproject components andcompletion of team tasks and responsibilities
  • You will anticipate business needs, secure required resources, andlead initiativesto implement change in the organization
  • You will make recommendations andbe involved with important decision-making on highly technical andcomplex aspects of WSPprojects
  • You will be accountable to leadcertain client accountsand engagementswithin the Energy Group
  • You will support the growthof technicaldisciplines required for Energy
  • You will ensurecompliance with all relevant regulationsand standards andprovide oversight and governance on the variousmajorproject ongoing within the Energy team
  • You will provide governance on Energy jobs including quality, andprovideleadership on Energy proposals
  • You will collaborate with other internaldepartments and stakeholders to improvequality and project delivery, including management of subconsultants
  • You will mentor andcoachother Energy staff as required.

What you’ll bringto WSP:

  • More than 10years’ experience in aleadership role, and must have experience in the Energy sector;
  • MUST have hands-on experience with Project Delivery;
  • Engineering degree in a relateddiscipline or technicaldiploma frompost-secondary institution is required;
  • Proven experience inbusinessdevelopment with an existing network in the Energy market;
  • Strong financial andbusiness acumen- experience with managing business operations and/or a P&L is an asset;
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, including industry trends and emerging technologies related to the energy transformation anddecarbonization;
  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships withclients;
  • P.Eng. or P.Tech.designation is an asset;
  • Bilingual inbothFrench and English is required.
