Marine Manager
PRIMARY PURPOSE

To manage the day to day activities of the national marine operations; and manages marine surveyors and adjusters responsible for conducting inspections and surveying marine vessels to assess monitor and report on the condition and submit claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages a team of surveyors and adjusters.
  • Investigates various aspects of marine transport operations and claims.
  • Ensures compliance with various standards or specifications.
  • Inspects equipment intended for new or existing vessels.
  • Performs a detailed unbiased assessment of the condition of a vessel to determine quality and safety.
  • Recommends repairs according to regulations.
  • Provide evidence in support of damage claims and submits reports.
  • Monitors all operational expenses including P&L and produces budgeted contribution margins.
  • Conducts various surveys including but not limited to: damage surveys and condition surveys.
  • Reviews file inventory to comply with statutory requirements.
  • Maintains all safety protocols according to regulations.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
  • Travels as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
  • Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.
  • Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience

Ten (10) years of experience as a marine surveyor with management and business development responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day.
  • Must have continual use of manual dexterity.
