Overview

Alphanumeric is hiring a Line Mechanic to work in Montreal, QC, for Haleon, one of the biggest pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the world.

Haleon has 22,000 employees and 24 global manufacturing sites, including one in Montreal. The 800 workers at the Montreal site manufacture and analyze products for more than 60 markets. Among other products, the plant supplies Centrum multivitamins, Advil and Robax pain relievers, Robitussin and Buckley syrups, Nexium capsules, and the Preparation H line.

Please be aware that we can only hire people already based in Canada with fully legal and valid documentation to work in Canada. Please apply with your CV in English, as some of the managers might not speak French.

Candidates must be fluent in both French and English, because this role reports to stakeholders, managers and clients outside of Quebec, where the environment requires communication in English, despite the daily work being in French.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the efficient and safe set-up and operation of our packaging lines;
  • Make product changes on the lines, prepare and adjust equipment according to standard times, in accordance with the production schedule, assembly instructions, and packaging instructions;
  • Perform certain checks during packaging;
  • Be able to make improvements to your line to increase its efficiency;
  • Check the condition (signs of wear) of critical parts on the line and change them as needed;
  • Execute work orders within your area of expertise and be able to close them in the SAP system;
  • Be able to intervene when there are breakdowns or malfunctions and explain the causes and preventive actions to prevent them from happening again;
  • Responsible for maintaining setup sheets;
  • During operations, perform the required tasks as described in the standard work to ensure the proper functioning of the line and good teamwork.
Conditions
  • Salary: 36.36 CAD/hour + applicable shift differential (1.50 CAD/hour for evening shifts and 2.50 CAD/hour for night shifts)
  • Employment: Full-time permanent directly with Haleon
  • Working Hours: Rotational shifts that might include weekends
    • Day shift: 7am-3pm
    • Evening shift: 3pm-11pm
    • Night shift: 11pm-7am
  • Work Location: 1025 Boulevard Marcel Laurin, Saint-Laurent, Quebec
  • Mandatory to be based in Canada with valid documentation (PR or valid Work Permit + valid SIN)

Requirements
  • Fluent or advanced French (mandatory)
  • Vocational diploma in industrial mechanics, electrical engineering, or electromechanics;

  • Good troubleshooting skills, mainly mechanical;
  • Knowledge of vision systems is an asset (EXA, Systech).
