Manufacturing Engineer (12-month contract)

About The Role

You will support production operations, interact with various departments, and implement process improvements. Responsibilities include evaluating equipment, understanding machine settings, installing control systems, and upgrading processes. You will serve as the gatekeeper for process changes.

What You Will Do

• Monitor equipment performance and identify upgrades to improve reliability and scalability
• Evaluate, maintain, and improve equipment to meet capacity demands
• Support new production process evaluation, monitor modifications, and troubleshoot existing processes
• Audit processes for optimal throughput and quality
• Implement systems to detect and prevent quality defects
• Update safety risk assessments and conduct HAZOP studies
• Collaborate with other Vistaprint plants and engineering facilities
• Work with Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, Logistics, and other teams on upgrades
• Develop cost reduction initiatives
• Analyze malfunctions using root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions
• Assist maintenance teams with troubleshooting
• Provide training to employees as needed
• Perform other duties as required

What You Need

• BASc or equivalent in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a lean high-production environment
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, logistics, and material handling
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Task management and timeline control abilities
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
• Effective interaction across all organizational levels
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Project, and AutoCAD
