Reporting to the Director, Wellness (Director), the Manager, Workplace Health and Safety (Manager) will lead the development, execution and institutionalization of the Government of Nunavut’s (GN) Health and Safety functions, goals, programs, initiatives, policies and training. Mandate includes Health and Safety support for Government departments. The Manager ensures GN compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, collective agreements, labour arbitration cases, relevant precedents, while integrating Inuit Societal Values. The position impacts all GN work locations and employees by establishing standards, policies, practices, and by designing, delivering, communicating, monitoring and enforcing all components of the health and safety mandate.
