Working within Global Risk Management (GRM), you will deliver data driven analyses that generate actionable insights to help reduce the Bank’s loan losses, enhance recoveries, and improve overall profitability.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Development and Optimization of Collection Strategies
    Drive the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous enhancement of collection strategies from a credit risk perspective, leveraging advanced risk technologies and aligning with global collections policies and operational standards.
    Deliver analytics projects that generate actionable insights to strengthen collection performance, improve recoveries, and deepen understanding of customer behavior.
    Assess and quantify credit risks associated with policy changes or new strategy designs, ensuring effective management reporting across all components of Collections (People, Data, Process, Technology, Strategy, Quality Control, Vendor Management).
    Develop robust reporting and analytics frameworks to effectively monitor credit risks, track portfolio performance, and provide clear insights into emerging trends and early warning indicators.
    Present recovery performance and portfolio trends to bank executives, including at senior management steering committees.
  2. Drive Collections Risk, Operational Effectiveness, and Innovation
    Lead initiatives to enhance Collections’ risk management rigor and operational efficiency, identifying opportunities that support the Bank’s objectives around productivity, service excellence, and cost reduction.
    Promote process reengineering efforts that reduce losses, increase dollars collected, improve productivity, and lower operational costs.
    Champion continuous improvement and strengthen strategy effectiveness through structured test‑and‑control methodologies that support evidence‑based decision-making and improved profitability.
    Challenge the status quo by fostering innovation, testing new ideas, and advocating for solutions that advance collections strategy, efficiency, and customer experience.
  3. Support Enterprise and Business Line Initiatives
    Represent the Risk perspective across cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders in operations, product, collections, technology, and governance to communicate risk measures clearly and ensure appropriate identification, assessment, and mitigation of credit risks associated with new and existing collection strategies.
    Support GRM’s effective challenge function through strong financial and quantitative analysis, comprehensive risk assessment, and detailed review of Credit Risk Proposals and special programs.
    Prepare and evaluate credit risk proposals, providing senior management with recommendations related to policy changes, regulatory considerations, major business initiatives, and portfolio-level decisions—including new pilots, renewals, and extensions.
    Support investigations, remediation planning, and responses related to OSFI and Internal Audit findings, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years with an organization focused on improving customer experience and automating processes, with a proven track record using analytical tools to conduct data analysis and generate business insights
  • Proficiency in programming and/or database programs (SAS, SQL, Python) and other analytical tools (Power BI)
  • Project management and leadership skills to prioritize management and implement a variety of competing initiatives, on a concurrent or staggered basis
  • Excellent communication and written skills complemented with analytical & problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives as well as recommend optimal solutions for various situations
  • Knowledge of credit scoring and risk assessment as well as portfolio management and behavior scoring to maximize the effectiveness of existing technology in providing competitive and effective policies that respond to the credit needs of our customers
  • Prior experience in credit risk or collection strategies is preferred
  • Must have a University degree in relevant STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) or a Master degree in business, statistics, economics, mathematics, management sciences or analytics
