Manager, Learning Design and Fellowship Academy

Venture for Canada (VFC) is seeking an experienced learning designer and project manager to lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of the VFC Fellowship Academy during an 18‑month parental leave.

Reporting to the Director of Programs, this role is ideal for a learning design leader with experience building end‑to‑end learning programs, managing learning designers, and curating high‑quality learning events. You will shape Fellowship learning strategy, oversee curriculum development, and ensure consistently excellent learner experiences.

This is a primarily remote role, with occasional in‑person travel across Canada required to support Fellowship events, conferences, and staff convenings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end‑to‑end design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the VFC Fellowship Academy.
  • Design learning experiences that support career transitions and prepare participants for the future of work, including practical use of AI and digital tools.
  • Set curriculum strategy, learning outcomes, and instructional design standards across programs and events.
  • Oversee the development of learning assets, including workshops, live sessions, self‑paced resources, and toolkits.
  • Facilitate select learning experiences and curate high‑quality events such as conferences and large‑scale sessions.
  • Manage and coach the learning design team, providing clear goals and feedback.
  • Use research, data, and learner feedback to strengthen learning outcomes and inform Fellowship strategy.
  • Collaborate with Events, Admissions, and Marketing to align timelines, communications, and learner experience.
  • Manage budgets related to curriculum development and external facilitation.
  • Build strong relationships with Fellows and Alumni and support alumni‑focused learning experiences.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Experience designing end‑to‑end learning programs from discovery through evaluation.
  • People management experience leading learning or instructional designers.
  • Strong background in adult learning, curriculum design, and applied learning.
  • Experience integrating AI, automation, and digital tools into learning experiences.
  • Experience curating learning events such as conferences or multi‑session programs.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast‑moving, evolving environments.
  • A systems thinker who balances strategy with hands‑on execution.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace/Gmail, HubSpot, Slack, and Zoom are assets.
  • Ability to travel for in‑person events and meetings.
  • Available for weekend sessions as required (≈ 4 times per year) and occasional evening sessions during the week.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
