The Reporting department within Global Finance plays a key role in the reporting and analysis of the bank’s financial results at both all‑bank and divisional levels. The Global Finance – Reporting function provides financial management and analytical support to Executive Management and supports Canadian Banking, Global Banking and Markets and Executive Office business units.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the integrity and analysis of all aspects of the financial results and analysis produced by the team.
- Manage the delivery and perform the reasonability of the periodic financial results (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and other metrics) on a timely basis while ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Manage delivery of periodic reporting on statutory and business‑line results for Global Banking and Markets.
- Ensure timely identification and resolution of all material issues; maintain and implement new controls where needed.
- Manage periodic processing of EGL entries, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to strict timetables.
- Coordinate and manage the periodic update of business‑line rules required to produce business‑line results.
- Work with finance partners to ensure the completeness, relevancy and accuracy of externally published reports, such as the MD&A, Investor Package and Supplementary Package.
- Analyze business‑line results and translate them into meaningful, insightful management reports.
- Implement changes required to support strategic business changes and management decisions.
- Review, analyze and prepare statutory journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness within strict timetables.
- Maintain and develop strong controls over operational and analytical processes.
- Communicate and resolve accounting and reporting issues with business units and management.
- Collaborate with business‑line and EO Finance partners to stay abreast of emerging issues that impact various business lines.
- Champion a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Identify and act upon efficiency opportunities.
- Participate in projects assigned to support department goals.
Qualifications
- Accounting designation: Canadian CPA (CMA, CGA, CA) or MBA, with at least 3 years related work experience.
