A leading financial institution in Toronto is seeking a Communications Surveillance Manager to oversee compliance with regulations and mitigate risks. This role requires bilingualism in English and French and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial industry, specifically in Capital Markets or Wealth Management. The successful candidate will conduct reviews of electronic communications, assess compliance effectiveness, and manage issues that arise during surveillance activities. The Canada Communications Surveillance Group is responsible for conducting surveillance of audio and electronic communications pursuant to regulations focusing on Market Abuse and Market Manipulation, Information Barrier, Suitability and Sales Practices and Conflict of Interest.
As Communications Surveillance Manager, you will provide surveillance coverage to relevant business units in line (Eg. Capital Markets, Wealth Management) with industry best practices, provide top-tier support to the business lines serviced and mitigate risk for RBC by detecting and escalating compliance issues. You will cross train amongst the team for redundant coverage and seek efficiencies and both strategic and tactical improvements to the communications surveillance program.
