Maintenance Technical Lead

Description:

The Maintenance Technical Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing maintenance and repair activities related to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment, and buildings to support ongoing operations.

The role includes overseeing a small multi-trade maintenance crew, ensuring safety and timeliness, and complying with relevant regulations, including the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities include developing maintenance strategies, troubleshooting automated testing systems, managing environmental health and safety standards, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, and maintaining accurate records.

The Maintenance Technical Lead also handles procurement, data tracking, supplier relations, inventory management, and acts as the point of contact for janitorial services and environmental inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree
  • Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent)
  • 5-10 years of troubleshooting automated equipment, preferably in automotive assembly or testing
  • Experience in a unionized environment is a benefit
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work weekends as required
