The Opportunity

Garden View Village – Assisted Living | Kimberley, BC

Position Type: Permanent, Part-Time (0.40 FTE)

Shift Schedule: Day (Evenings and Weekends as needed)

Shift Times: 9:00 - 17:00 (8 hour shift)

What You'll Do
  • Under the direction of the Community Manager, maintain all aspects of the building and grounds, including interior, exterior, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Complete preventative maintenance in line with schedules and manufacturer specifications.
  • Review, prioritize, and respond to maintenance and resident requests daily.
  • Coordinate and oversee trades, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring quality and timely work.
  • Obtain quotes, schedule services, and monitor workmanship through completion.
  • Track warranties, approve completed work, and follow financial policies.
  • Resolve maintenance issues and collaborate with Community Managers on resident and staff concerns.
  • Source new trades and support building projects, turnovers, and service contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Relevant building or facility maintenance background
  • A strong mechanical or electrical understanding
  • Minimum of three years related experience
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize work
  • Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate budgets
  • The ability to create sound & economical solutions in emergency situations.
  • Experience in a care community or retirement residence is preferred.
  • A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
