Could you be the full-time Maintenance Manager in Whitby we’re looking for?

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of assigned departments, driving efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including supervisors, employees, and customers), provide technical guidance to staff, and oversee departmental policies and budgets, among other responsibilities.
You’ll specifically take care of managing unionized staff in a shop environment, but also coordinate investigations for customer issues and special projects.
Administering a service function to support 24-hour operations
Advising staff on technical and operational matters
Coordinating investigations and resolution of customer issues related to equipment maintenance
Preparing, administering, and managing departmental budgets
Developing and recommending new or revised departmental policies and procedures
Providing coaching and leadership for the development of subordinates
Interpreting and providing guidance to staff regarding collective agreements

5+ years of management responsibility in a manufacturing or maintenance environment
Knowledge of preventative maintenance, work order, and scheduling techniques
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse disciplines and levels, both internally and externally
Proficiency in verbal and written communication
Knowledge of working procedures and techniques utilized in trade environments
Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities
Working knowledge of MS Office applications
