Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join a team of researchers working on character animation generation. The team is based in Vancouver, BC and is developing technologies that will push the boundaries of character motion and crowd simulation. We’re looking for an engineer with relevant expertise in designing, implementing, training, and deploying machine learning models.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Work with large datasets to train, test, and validate models.
  • Optimize and deploy machine learning models to Unreal Engine.
  • Collaborate with research, engineering, and game development teams to define requirements and troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct research and stay current with advancements in machine learning.
  • Evaluate and improve the performance of existing ML systems.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
  • Familiarity with IREE is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with C++ is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills and ability to contribute both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and managing timelines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and work effectively across teams.
  • Attention to detail and a sense for visual quality.

Estimated pay range for this position: $84 200 - $127 200 CAD annually
