A public school board in Ontario seeks a Long Term Occasional Educational Assistant (Level D) to support students in an extended day program. Ideal candidates will hold relevant educational qualifications and certifications, and have experience working with special needs children. Responsibilities include assisting staff and promoting student success. The position requires a commitment to equity and inclusion in educational practices and is part-time at 7.5 hours per week.
This posting is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association as well as external applicants. Staff already in an LTO are not eligible to apply to this posting if it will conflict with their current LTO. All Long Term Occasional assignments are subject to a revised end date with 2‑weeks notice. Under the for staff screening and police record checks; Employees [DECEs, EAs, CYWs] working in licensed child care programs are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check issued by a Police Service on or before every fifth anniversary after the date of the most recent vulnerable sector check. In addition, employees are required to complete an annual offence declaration (annually recorded through the WRDSB staff portal). Educators working in Before and After School Programs are required to complete a request for VSC through your local police service [available online] and submit your original electronic copy to for review. Employees are required to have a valid first aid and CPR certificate and or be registered to update their training within the year.
