Job summary

A dynamic road maintenance company is seeking seasonal workers in Thunder Bay, ON, for highway line painting crews. Responsibilities include driving vehicles, assisting with site duties, and maintaining equipment. Candidates must be willing to work out of town and perform heavy lifting. A G / G2 license is required. This is a temporary position with pay ranging from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Drive sign truck and buffer vehicle during line painting.
• Inspect vehicles, maintain cleanliness, and assist with site clean-up.
• Set up and take down traffic control as needed.

Overview

North-West Lines (NWL) is looking to fill several seasonal vacancies on our highway and road line painting crews. NWL is a dynamic and expanding company with opportunity for advancement and support for training and development.

Job Duties

• Drive sign truck as part of mobile line painting operations.
• Drive buffer vehicle as part of mobile line painting operations.
• Perform daily inspection of vehicle and warning lights and signs and inform supervisor immediately of any defects found.
• Maintain a clean vehicle, and ensure fuel and other fluid levels are adequate for daily operation.
• Assist line painting truck driver and operator with site cleaning, material loading, equipment cleaning, and maintenance.
• Assist with setup and take down of traffic control.
• Assist special marking crew with site cleaning, marking layout and installation, material handling, and equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Occasional night shift work will be required.
• Shop and yard cleaning, vehicle washing, and other general repairs and maintenance will be required to be performed during normal hours of work when pavement marking operations are not active.

Hours of Work

• 11 days on / 3 days off
• hour shifts
