A healthcare provider in Sundre, Alberta, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time position. You will be part of an interprofessional team, providing quality care in acute, long-term, and emergency settings. Ideal candidates will have completed an accredited practical nursing program and possess strong interpersonal skills. This role requires active registration or eligibility with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta, along with BCLS certification. Candidates should be prepared for diverse shifts and have effective working relationships with teams.
This position is a combination of full scope practice to clients on LTC, AC and ED units in the Myron Thompson Health Centre. Duties and responsibilities are within College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) scope of practice and in collaboration with the interpersonal team. Rural nursing experience is an asset. The Myron Thompson Health Centre is an intimate team environment providing care with 14 acute care beds, 5 long term care beds, 3 flex beds and a five-stretcher emergency department. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Completion of courses consistent with full scope of practice, including IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration an asset. Minimum 1 to 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interprofessional team. Demonstrated understanding, patience and sensitivity in relating to patients and their families. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
