www.well.company, wellclinics.caPosition Summary: Primary Plus Medical is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 12-month maternity leave coverage role, supporting patient care and clinic operations while working to the full scope of practice.
What you will be doing:Deliver patient-centred clinical care in accordance with CLPNA scope of practice while supporting efficient clinic operations.Manage high volumes of patient calls, follow-ups, and education, including explaining test results and diagnostics (e.g., A1C, INR, lipids, imaging, cancer screening, infections).Support physicians with clinical discussions and task-based follow-up to ensure timely, coordinated care.Perform in-clinic procedures as ordered, including injections (e.g., allergy, B12), ear flushes, suture removals, wound care, and orthostatic blood pressure assessments.Coordinate and review laboratory work, guide patients through referrals and next steps, and support ongoing follow-up care.Triage patient inquiries, assess urgency, and support same-day or timely care pathways to reduce unnecessary urgent care or external visits.Assist with patient rooming, vitals, assessments, and specimen collection during high-volume periods.Act as a clinical resource to clinic staff, manage medical supply inventory, and contribute to smooth clinic flow, particularly during peak times.
You have:An Alberta LPN license in good standing2-4 years of related, hands-on nursing experienceAbility to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.Effective communication skills (both oral and written)Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate stress management skills.Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, such as AccuroThe salary offered for this position falls within a specified salary range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific needs of the organization.
