New Westminster Schools seeks qualified Learning Support English Language Learning Teachers for temporary full-time and part-time LST ELL Teacher positions at the Elementary, Middle, and Secondary levels.

Positions

The candidate will be part of, and work closely with, a collaborative team of teachers. An understanding of the BC Curriculum, effective teaching and learning practices, and a commitment to professional development are essential.

Positions are available effective September 2, 2025.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate
  • Diploma or Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL Diploma) K-12 from a recognized post secondary institution
  • Ability to develop and implement AIPs
  • Ability to provide direct service to students in small group "pull out" and "push in" situations
  • Ability to provide direct support to teachers and school based teams
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to communicate with students and parents/guardians
  • Successful experience and demonstrated ability to work with colleagues as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience at the level as required by the position (Elementary, Middle, or Secondary)
  • Experience in the formation and implementation of AIPs
  • Demonstrated ability in UDL and differentiation, especially as it pertains to ELL
Compensation
  • Salary as per Teachers' Collective Agreement. Current salary range is $59,724.00 to $110,833.00 annually plus comprehensive benefits package.
