Siemens Electronic Design Automation ULC
Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software. Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively. Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.
The Story
The Learning Architect (LA) role has been critical for improving the quality, efficiency, and scalability of the Saskatoon Centre of Excellence’s training program for new Application Engineers. Over the course of the last half year, the scope of the role has expanded to include soft-skill training and program development for EMEA, the global Associate AE program, PacRim AEs, Morrocco PEs, and India AEs, with key contributions to Sales Kickoff workshops and global AE training for Aprisa.
The Siemens Learning Architect role needs to further expand its scope while ensuring that the foundational work continues, driven from the existing team. The need for educational program management and soft skill training stretches across the DDCP organization and beyond new employee training programs.
This developing role will take on these challenges, while aligning with the Siemens goals for higher education and labour pool development. It will tackle changing entrenched opinions about learning processes, approaches, and outcomes where those are not aligned with best practices, while respecting the experience and cultures of established teams. The goal is to improve critical skills, provide a scalable, self-reinforcing culture of learning and shared development, and establish a living repository of shared training information available to DDCP teams.
Position Summary
The LA role shapes a high-impact, evidence-based internal training ecosystem. This senior-level role combines systems thinking, pedagogical design, facilitation skills, and organizational development to drive training and skill development in alignment with strategic objectives across DDCP. The position will support technical experts in designing competency-based learning programs, curate internal training resources, and deliver hands-on training.
The LA will lead soft-skills training focused on building internal capacity to do the same. Facilitator and instructor training for technical experts led by the LA will support scaling and expanding a model of learning. This role is collaborative, strategic, and hands-on. The Learning Architect will gather real-time feedback from learners and be empowered to make continuous improvements in partnership with technical experts and their teams. The LA will collaborate closely with engineers, facilitators, and business teams, with significant autonomy to develop and support innovative learning solutions.
