Job summary

A leading mental health organization in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a collaborative inter-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in addiction care and a strong commitment to patient-centered practice. Responsibilities include administering medications, supporting patients in recovery, and engaging with team members. A nursing license and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience working with patients who have a broad range of addiction and psychiatric diagnoses preferred.
  • 1 year in Charge Nurse role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community mental health resources.
  • BCLS Level C for Healthcare Providers.
  • Proven ability to assume leadership.
  • Experience with group facilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients recovering from a variety of addictions within a therapeutic milieu environment.
  • Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments.
  • Act as a preceptor mentor coach or resource nurse as appropriate.
  • Accept changing work assignments across the Addiction Medicine Program as required.
