Qualifications

Job Title: Lead Dental Assistant

Wage: $36.00 – $37.00 per hour (based on experience)

Hours: 30–35 hours per week

About Us

Shore Breeze Dental is a modern, patient-focused dental clinic located in the Humber Bay area of Toronto. We take pride in providing comprehensive dental care in a welcoming environment using state-of-the-art equipment and technologies. We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our growing practice and oversee the clinical operations of our dental team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments in compliance with IPAC standards
  • Managing dental supply inventory and ordering materials as required
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring dental assistants and sterilization staff
  • Coordinating patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
  • Recording treatment information in patient charts accurately and confidentially
  • Ensuring compliance with RCDSO and IPAC infection control protocols
  • Take intra-oral and panoramic digital X-rays
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Performing infection control and operatory turnover between patients
  • Providing patient education on oral hygiene and postoperative care
  • Directly supervise dental assistants and provide guidance to dental receptionists
Qualifications
  • Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of experience as a dental assistant in Canada in a clinical setting is required
  • Minimum Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience is required
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments is required
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a dental office is required
  • Strong knowledge of IPAC standards and RCDSO regulations
  • HARP certification is required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Oryx dental software is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Required Language: English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Points, Windows and Word is required
