Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Reshape Consulting, is seeking a Lead Carpenter to join their team in St. John's, NL. Reshape Consulting Inc. specializes in high-quality residential renovations, with a focus on bathroom and interior remodeling. Their skilled team of carpenters and tile installers take pride in delivering beautiful, lasting results for their clients. With crew expansion, they are looking for a Lead Carpenter who is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in quality craftsmanship.

Position Summary

As a Lead Renovation Carpenter, you'll play a key role in completing interior renovation projects from framing to finish. This position is ideal for a hands‑on tradesperson with experience in trim work, millwork, interior framing, drywall, and painting. You'll work both independently and collaboratively to bring spaces to life, ensuring precision and quality in every job.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare job sites with the utmost care and detail in mind, using products like Guardia, carpet film, re‑u‑zip, zip poles, hoardings methods.
  • Perform interior framing, blocking, and layout for renovation projects.
  • Execute trim and finish carpentry, including installation of baseboards, casings, crown molding, and custom millwork.
  • Hang, tape, and repair drywall, ensuring a smooth, paint‑ready surface.
  • Complete surface preparation and painting, achieving a clean and professional finish.
  • Assist in fixture and hardware installation, such as doors, shelving, and cabinetry.
  • Collaborate with tile installers, plumbers, and electricians to ensure seamless project flow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site, following safety and quality standards.
  • Daily cleaning of job sites and garbage management.
  • Ability to use and/or learn software daily as required (Job Tread, Company Cam).
  • Transport tools and materials between job sites and perform occasional light demolition or prep work as required.
  • Work closely with our interior designer to make sure our bathrooms are completed to the clients' expectations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in renovation carpentry or a related trade (trim, drywall, or framing).
  • Skilled with hand and power tools, measuring accurately, and working to tight tolerances.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50lbs.) and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality workmanship.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required to travel between local job sites. (must be Licensed, Registered and Insured).
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Basic understanding of construction safety practices.
  • Tile setting experience considered an asset and will have additional compensation.
  • Plastering experience is considered an asset and will have additional compensation.

Salary & Benefits
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
  • Pay‑per‑kilometer and driving allowances. (Mileage reimbursement: 75c./ kilometer, or 90c. if transporting materials with a truck).
  • Paid time off, on‑site parking, company events, and casual dress (company hoodie and hat provided after 1 month) (steel‑toed boots required).
  • We are willing to act quickly in obtaining health insurance if needed.
