Job description
Your Opportunity

The Edmonton Radiopharmaceutical Centre (ERC) offers a unique opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant who thrives in a dynamic, highly regulated environment. This is not a typical lab assistant role—here, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of equipment records and compliance with ERC standards. Working under minimal supervision, you will proactively plan, schedule, and coordinate preventative maintenance and calibrations for specialised equipment, supporting the safe and efficient production of radiopharmaceuticals. In addition to equipment management, you will handle shipping and receiving duties, including preparing regulatory documentation (CNSC, TDG, GMP), performing contamination checks on radioactive packages, and delivering radiopharmaceuticals within Edmonton using ERC’s delivery vehicle. You will also assist with equipment installation and qualification, maintain cleanliness and safety in packaging areas, and prepare containers for reuse. This role requires adaptability, as you will provide coverage for other Lab Assistants and administrative staff, including reception, supply management, and QA sample preparation. You will also support waste handling (biohazard, chemical, radioactive) and ensure accurate data entry into electronic systems for compliance and performance monitoring. If you are detail‑oriented, proactive, and eager to contribute to a specialised healthcare environment, this position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care and operational excellence.
