A leading consulting engineering firm in Toronto seeks a motivated Junior Mine Waste and Geotechnical Engineer. This role involves designing and managing mine waste facilities while collaborating with diverse teams. Candidates should hold a degree in engineering and possess 1-3 years of relevant experience. The position offers growth opportunities in a supportive environment with strong emphasis on teamwork. Attractive benefits and flexible work arrangements are included.
BBA is looking for a motivated Junior Mine Waste and/or Geotechnical Engineer to join our Tailings and Mine Waste team from our Toronto office. In this role, you’ll help design, analyze, and manage mine waste facilities such as tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and water management structures throughout all project stages—from development and construction to operations, closure, and reclamation. You’ll assist senior engineers with geotechnical investigations, design work, and data analysis, ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory standards. The position includes both office and field work, including report preparation, design documentation, and construction support.
Collaboration is key—you’ll work with multidisciplinary teams (mining, civil, environmental, and process engineers) and occasionally interact with clients and regulators. Over time, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in risk assessments, dam safety reviews, and performance monitoring of mine waste structures. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical and project management skills while contributing to safe, sustainable, and innovative solutions in mine waste management.
