About the Job

At PMco, we take pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable building operations across our property portfolio. We’re looking for a Junior Power Engineer to join our property management team and support the operation of boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently completed their 4th Class Power Engineering program and is eager to grow their technical skills through hands-on experience. You’ll be working closely with our 4th Class Stationary Engineer and senior staff, gaining exposure to a wide variety of building systems in a supportive learning environment.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

As a Junior Power Engineer, you’ll:

  • Assist in monitoring and operating boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and building automation systems.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and support corrective repairs under supervision.
  • Conduct water treatment tests for boiler and cooling tower systems.
  • Record equipment performance, maintenance tasks, and system readings.
  • Support seasonal building procedures (start-ups, shutdowns, winterization).
  • Respond to maintenance service requests and assist with tenant support.
  • Take part in inspections, safety checks, and emergency system testing.
  • Provide general support for upgrades, retrofits, and renovation projects.
  • Occasionally travel between PMco-managed properties to assist with maintenance needs.
What Will Help You Thrive
  • A 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate (required).
  • 1–2 years of related experience in building operations, industrial facilities, or through a co-op/apprenticeship.
  • A solid foundation in boilers, chillers, HVAC, plumbing, and control systems, with interest in building automation.
  • Strong safety mindset and familiarity with workplace safety practices (lockout/tagout, emergency response).
  • Professional communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with tenants, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and adapt to indoor/outdoor conditions.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
