Qualifications

The salary range for this position is $69K to $81K per annum. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Your Role:

• Planning, conducting, and supervising geotechnical investigations.
• Evaluating geologic conditions and geotechnical characteristics for assessment and design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures and earth structures.
• Conducting foundation investigations for commercial, industrial, and high‑rise developments.
• Conducting dam safety reviews and completing remediation designs.
• Conducting and reviewing slope stability and embankment assessments and completing designs.
• Analyzing field data and preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations.
• Conducting pavement evaluations and completing designs.
• Preparing proposals, budgeting and scheduling of technical field staff.
• Communicating with clients and sub‑consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering.
• Preference will be given to candidates that have obtained a graduate degree in the area of Geotechnical Engineering.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a geotechnical engineering capacity.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment would be considered an asset.
• Experience writing internal and external facing reports and proposals.
• Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel for work is essential to the position.
• Previous experience using AutoCAD, GeoStudio 2007 Products and MS Office is essential.
• Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute to the project by being a team player.
• Must be or eligible to register as a professional engineer in British Columbia, be legally entitled to work in Canada, and possess a valid British Columbia Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent).
