Responsibilities
  • The Junior Foreman supports the Foreman.
  • Lead the dock crew to safely unload and load linehaul and city equipment to meet service targets.
  • Leads on safety and compliance to help create a safe work culture and compliance to processes.
  • On forklift as well as some manual work is required.
  • Quality Task Audits daily and reporting on any gaps.
  • Reports daily on any equipment issues (forklifts and hand jacks).
  • Reports daily on any near miss.
  • Leadership, able to mentor and lead.
  • Must be able to cover Foreman shifts at times with little notice as well as vacation days, etc.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of city of Winnipeg and surrounding rural towns—ability to plan a delivery run.
  • Leadership skills to clearly set expectations and assign tasks with company safety targets and service targets in mind.
  • Flexibility with little notice to work a variety of shifts; this shift starts late evening and early mornings and weekends.
  • Willing to learn to run the am dock.
  • Ability to train new hires.
