Junior Field Technician/Site Inspector – Mining Infrastructure – Northern Québec Mining Site

Multiple positions available for technicians in construction monitoring and materials quality control for major projects located on a mining site in the Côte‑Nord, Abitibi‑Témiscamingue regions, and others.

This position is a variable employment role with benefits. Most of the work for this position is seasonal (during the summer construction period), with weekly hours exceeding 40 hours. This allows the employee to use accumulated overtime during periods when there is less site work (winter).

What You Can Expect to Do With Us:
  • Perform civil engineering construction monitoring involving heavy machinery.
  • Conduct materials quality control: Perform materials sampling; Carry out in‑situ density testing with a nuclear densimeter; Perform fresh concrete testing; Conduct laboratory tests (sieve analyses, Proctor tests, moisture content, sedimentation tests) as needed.
  • Write daily progress reports.
  • Provide daily technical support to engineering teams on site.
  • Participate in construction planning.
  • Follow up on plans and specifications.
  • Promote and demonstrate commitment to company values.
  • Promote health and safety within the team.
What You Will Bring to WSP:
  • A diploma in civil engineering (AEC, DEC, or equivalent).
  • 0 to 3 years of construction site experience.
  • Mobility and willingness to work in remote regions.
  • Eligibility to drive a rental vehicle.
  • Ability to lift loads of 50 lbs / 23 kg.
  • Resourcefulness and autonomy.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • A marked interest in outdoor work in a fast‑paced environment with variable weather conditions.
  • for a schedule of 14 days on / 14 days off (Fly‑In Fly‑Out).
  • Good written and spoken French (mandatory).
  • Good written and spoken English (an asset).
Prerequisites
  • ASP Construction Safety Card
  • Valid Québec driver’s license
Compensation

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $26.67/hr – $35.38/hr

MB & ON: $26.92/hr – $37.08/hr

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $29.49/hr – $39.08/hr
