Position

Full-Time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Hybrid Format: 1 day per week remote

Salary: From $55,000/year plus annual bonus based on performance

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure adequate stock on hand for a variety of fresh and frozen products including all details such as specs and delivery arrangements
  • Prepare purchase orders and related documents
  • Manage inventory levels for production & sales
  • Follow up on a variety of purchasing-related tasks
  • Meet or exceed expectations laid out in the purchasing scorecard such as fill rates, inventory caps and long & slow inventory
  • Manage sourcing of new products to keep customers competitive and current on the market trends
  • Stay on top of market shifts/updates to negotiate the best pricing in a commodity marketplace
  • Initiate and maintain healthy internal and external customer and vendor relations
  • Communicate all relevant information to other departments
Requirements
  • Previous experience in purchasing/buying/procurement role.
  • Experience in food/protein industry is strong asset.
  • Education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is an asset.
  • Strong computer systems skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving, innovation and customer service skills
