Job summary

A service provider in Edmonton is seeking a Night Shift Journeyperson Millwright for their Waste Management Facility. The successful candidate will perform Millwright duties, ensuring maintenance and repair of equipment. This temporary position offers 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a pay rate of $43.01 per hour plus an additional $3.00/hour night shift premium. Applicants must possess a Millwright Journeyperson certificate and a valid Alberta driver's license. This role requires physical endurance and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Job description

FDI Services Inc. is currently seeking 1 night shift Journeyperson Millwright (temporarily) for our City of Edmonton Waste Management Centre Facility in Edmonton, AB. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely executing Millwright duties in a facilities maintenance setting.

Responsibilities
  • Comprehends diagrams schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Operates rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
  • Understands how to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
  • Align and test equipment to make any necessary adjustments.
  • Performs preventative and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts as necessary.
  • Periodically perform tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
  • Successful candidates are required to have a valid Alberta driver’s license and provide a 5-year driver’s abstract.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.
  • Must be able to perform duties at heights.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to complete all pre-access training as identified prior to mobilization.
  • Millwright Journeyperson certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.
