Savanna Well Servicing is hiring! We are looking for an experiencedJourneyman Mechanic to join our team in Leduc, AB.
General Statement of Duties
- The Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment used on service rigs.
- The ideal candidate will have specific expertise and knowledge of service rig operations, equipment and a commitment to safety & industry standards.
- Must be willing to work on-call, overtime and weekends based on business needs.
- Work is based in Leduc, AB. However, offsite support may be required as our rig operations are located in remote areas across AB and BC. Candidate must be willing to travel to remote rig locations on an as needed basis.
Brief Summary of Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, and repairs on rig equipment, including engines, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and generators.
- Troubleshoot, repair and conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections of top drive equipment.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble rig machinery to ensure efficient operation and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Regularly perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage and maintain service truck, ensuring it is adequately stocked with tools and spare parts.
- Assist with the start up and commissioning of new service rigs.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, communicating issues clearly and following instructions
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues while under pressure
- Strong attention to detail with careful attention to specifications, safety protocols and machinery adjustments
- Flexibility to work in diverse conditions and handle unexpected challenges on the rig
Required Education & Experience
- Must be a licensed Journeyman Mechanic/Heavy-Duty Mechanic
- Relevant industry experience, preferably at least 3-5 years
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and rig-specific machinery
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized rig equipment
- CVIP experience considered an asset
- Valid Driver's License and transportation
- Valid industry certifications (e.g. H2S Alive, First Aid, etc)
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment, as needed
