Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to provide on‑site technical assistance at COMOX and remote end‑user support for CAE Staff at CFB Comox. This role will ensure smooth IT operations, resolve technical issues promptly, and maintain high service standards for all users.

Key Responsibilities
  • On‑Site Support at CFB Comox
    • As part of the D&S Canada IT Team assist with IT infrastructure and operational needs.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.
    • Support deployment and configuration of systems and applications.
  • End‑User Support for CAE users at CFB Comox
    • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and software.
    • Respond to service requests and incidents via ticketing system.
    • Guide users through problem‑solving steps and elevate complex issues when necessary.
  • General IT Duties
    • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security standards.
    • Document processes, solutions, and maintain accurate asset records.
    • Assist with onboarding/offboarding of employees and device provisioning.
Qualifications
  • Canadian Government Security Clearance at Secret or higher.
  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or helpdesk roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, networking basics, and remote support tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with enterprise ticketing systems (ServiceNow).
  • Familiarity with VPN, remote desktop, and collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices is an asset.
