Overview

This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, C41 Systems Directorate. Responsibilities
  • Serve as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) in the Information Systems Division in the Office of the Director of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) Systems.
  • Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and applications.
  • Document and update all systems security operations and maintenance activities and assess the effectiveness of security controls.
  • Manage and maintain systems and servers, resources, and configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on faulty hardware and software.
  • Manage complex, long term projects to include performing technical studies, simulations, and preparing technical specifications.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85. (See Additional Information section below).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must obtain and maintain requirements for certain Cyber work roles. See Additional Information section for more.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel expected for this position up to 20% or less of the time.
