Our client located in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an IT Project Manager.
This will be a day shift position (8 hours per day).
Pay rate will be $- $ / hr.
Duration: 6 months contract
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies for office relocation projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, facilities, and business units, to understand requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services and adherence to project specifications.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may arise during the relocation process.
- Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, milestones, and any issues that may impact project delivery.
- Technical Oversight: Ensure the successful migration of IT equipment and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and meeting room equipment, with minimal downtime and disruption.
- Meeting Room Equipment: Oversee the relocation and setup of meeting room equipment, including audio-visual systems, conferencing tools, and related technologies to ensure they are operational post-relocation.
- Post-Relocation Support: Oversee post-relocation activities, including troubleshooting, user support, and system functionality verification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, especially in office relocations.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, AV equipment, and meeting room booking systems.
- Proven experience in planning and executing office relocations, including IT infrastructure and lab environments.
- Ability to develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource strategies.
- Excellent risk management and contingency planning skills.
- Ability to maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience managing external vendors and service providers.
- Flexibility to work during non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, during critical move phases.
- Physical ability to perform light lifting and navigate office spaces, server rooms, and labs.
