Position Details

Compensation

  • Effective September 1, 2024 - $7,471.08 per half course (195 hours nominally)
  • Effective September 1, 2024 - $14,942.17 per full course (390 hours nominally)
  • Note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Duties

  • Instructors have a nominal workload of 195 hours per half-credit course.
  • Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience teaching introductory statistics and research design in an academic setting.
  • Specifically, instruction in descriptive and inferential statistics including types of measurement scales, displaying data distributions, measures of central tendency and variability, Z scores, correlation and regression, probability, hypothesis testing (parametric and non-parametric), statistical power, experimental confounds, reliability and validity measurements.
  • The instructor must be available through regular office hours and appointments for supervision and contact with students.
  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) in Psychology, or ABD in Psychology, status is required.

As per Article 22.04 of the Collective Agreement: Members shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours (i.e., not overtime hours) allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time. Applicants that are in excess of the above noted workload limits will not have their applications considered unless they have received prior written approval from the appropriate Dean and the Human Resources Department.
