Job summary

A municipal organization in Winnipeg is looking for a part-time Instructor Guard to provide safe aquatic services. You will instruct Lifesaving and Learn to Swim programs, lifeguard at public swim events, and carry out daily maintenance duties. As The Instructor Guard You Will
  • Instruct Lifesaving and Learn to Swim programs.
  • Lifeguard Public Swim and Aquatic programs.

Your Education And Qualifications Include
  • Manitoba Fitness Council certifications for Group, Resistance, Older Adults, Aqua Fitness would be an asset.
  • NCCP certification for Water Polo, Synchronized Swimming, Diving would be an asset.
  • IMPORTANT: Applicants who have been educated outside of Canada must have education which is comparable to the minimum qualification in Canada. Applicants submitting foreign credentials require an official academic assessment report issued by a recognized Canadian assessment service https://www.canalliance.org/en/ at application.
Conditions Of Employment
  • The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
  • National Lifeguard - Pool
  • Swim for Life Instructor
  • Lifesaving Instructor
  • Standard First Aid Certificate (St. John Ambulance, Red Cross, or Aquatic Emergency Care).
  • CPR Level C/AED Certificate (St. John's Ambulance, Red Cross, or Aquatic Emergency Care). Renewed annually.
  • A Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector) satisfactory to the employer will be required from the successful candidate(s), at their expense. To obtain Police Information Check information please visit www.winnipeg.ca/police.
  • Must be 16 years of age.
