Infrastructure Analyst – Overview

Expera IT is looking for a technically skilled Infrastructure Analyst to join our Professional Services Team who thrives in dynamic client environments and works well independently and collaboratively. Reporting to the Professional Services Manager at our Calgary Head Office, this role involves onsite client visits and focuses on strategic, project‑based engagements beyond routine support.

Purpose

To implement changes in client environments, including servers, storage, and systems management components with minimal interruption to clients.

Main Responsibilities & Duties
  • Complete large migrations and other project tasks for clients
  • Deploy new client environments
  • Communicate early and often with clients and teammates regarding outstanding issues
  • Adhere to scheduled project tasks to meet client expectations
  • Implement solutions designed by the Solutions Architect, while minimizing client risk & downtime
  • Accurately determine proper course of action when facing conflicting priorities
  • Update time and notes for project tasks in ticketing system in real‑time
  • Update client documentation accurately
  • Create and maintain network documentation accurately
  • Create and maintain process documentation regularly
  • Act as an escalation point for coworkers within the Professional Services team
  • Participate in client meetings to provide advice and recommendations
  • Participate in Pre‑Sales tasks for potential new clients such as network assessments
  • Assist in automation initiatives
  • Train, mentor and assist team members
  • Develop technical skills and knowledge to remain at forefront of new and existing technologies
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Professional Services Manager and the Leadership Team
  • This position requires on‑site visits to prospects and clients
Requirements
  • Post-Secondary Certificate, Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business or another related field
  • 8+ years’ experience
  • Based in Calgary, AB
  • Capable of complex, large scale projects
  • Very strong working knowledge of Windows Server environments including Windows 2003, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025
  • Exceptional Proficiency in MS Office applications and Office 365, desktop operating systems (Windows and/or Mac), Terminal Services, VPN technologies, MS Exchange Server, LAN/WAN network topologies, Anti‑virus solutions, firewall technologies, and familiarity with MS Windows Server operating systems
  • Exceptional Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PowerShell Administration
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills and understanding of TCP/IP and networking technologies
  • Experience working in Tier 3 Datacenters
  • Microsoft Certification MCSA and MCSE are an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMWare and Hyper‑V
  • Citrix Certification and VMWare Certification are an asset
  • High Level of experience with Microsoft Office 365 migrations and management
  • Microsoft Azure Certification are an asset (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-140)
  • High Level of Experience with Microsoft Azure including Identity & Access Management, Cloud Infrastructure & Integration, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Knowledge of Amazon AWS
  • Knowledge of various other generalized technologies
  • Knowledge of IT Architectural Design processes
  • Knowledge of Project Management Processes
