Job Title: IT Business Analyst

Location: Edmonton, AB

Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote (after project stabilization)

Rate: $50/hour T4 or $57/hour INC.

Contract: 1 Year contract - March, 2026 – March, 2027 (extension possible)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support the transition of cybersecurity services to a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP).

This role will play a critical part in planning and executing the migration of operational security capabilities to an external vendor while ensuring alignment with security standards, compliance obligations, and organizational risk posture.

If you have strong experience in cybersecurity environments and have supported vendor transitions or MSSP engagements, this is a high-impact contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements Management
  • Lead elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of functional and non-functional requirements related to managed security services
  • Develop current-state and future-state security service models, workflows, roles, and processes
  • Maintain full requirements traceability from discovery through post-transition stabilization
MSSP Transition & Vendor Coordination
  • Support vendor onboarding, offboarding, and transition initiatives
  • Define service scope, escalation paths, and operational dependencies
  • Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies; support mitigation planning
  • Translate contractual obligations into operational requirements
Security Standards & Governance
  • Develop and maintain security standards, procedures, and operational playbooks
  • Translate regulatory, policy, and risk management requirements into actionable documentation
  • Support governance reporting and stakeholder communications
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Produce high-quality documentation including requirements, process flows, standards, and transition artifacts
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, security controls, and vendor deliverables
  • Support post-transition optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
Core Competencies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
  • End-to-end requirements tracking and validation

  • Experience supporting UAT and solution rollout

Required Qualifications

Nice to Have
  • Experience working with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP)
  • Experience in cybersecurity programs or security operations
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, etc.)
  • CBAP, ECBA, or related Business Analysis certification

Hybrid arrangement (3 days onsite / 2 remote) may be considered once the project is underway and progressing as expected.
