Primary Responsibilities
- Deter all criminal activity, looking for suspicious behaviours and unattended items using CCTV.
- Carefully examine and interpret significant data to form logical and valuable conclusions.
- Write detailed, accurate reports (written or electronic) as required for suspicious behaviours and security incidents.
- Request the assistance of police and other federal law enforcement as required.
- Investigate incidents and collect accurate and detailed information.
- Operate and effectively monitor CCTV and alarm monitoring systems.
- Dispatch Security personnel for all alarms, complex access, suspicious activities, security incidents, tasks, etc.
- Prioritize calls for service by obtaining accurate and relevant information through questioning.
- Coordinate Emergency Response.
- Determine operational needs for responding Security personnel and provide appropriate direction/information for call response.
- Consistent exposure to a work environment with continuous distractions and a high level of activity and noise.
- Ensure compliance with site policies and procedures.
- Effectively determine occurrences/activities out of the norm; continue high-level monitoring to determine if field response is required.
- Exposure to high stress and prolonged sitting, talking, keyboarding, radio transmissions and telephone calls.
- Respond according to policy and appropriately deal with suspicious activities and behaviours, unattended items, and vehicles.
- Knowledge of Municipal Law, Provincial/Territorial Law, and Federal Law.
- Utilize quick decision-making skills and sound judgement, acting in accordance with site security policy and procedures, as well as federal, provincial, and municipal law.
- Engage in professional radio operations procedures, keeping security agents and supervisors informed of all pertinent incidents and activities according to department policy.
- May be required to act as a field training agent, training new members of the team in policy/procedures and field activity.
- Always providing outstanding internal and external customer service.
- Other duties as required.

Wage
$25 / hour
Requirements
- Age: Minimum of 18 years
- Able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test (Pre-Screening)
- Possesses a Class 5 (Non-novice) driver's license and will be required to provide a 5-year driver's abstract (upon hiring).
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada at time of application
- Of good character, who acts in a lawful and ethical manner
- Strong communication skills (speaking, writing, and reading) and understanding of the English language.
- Physically fit: Fit for Duty, able to lift 80 lbs
- Criminal Records Check
- No unpardoned criminal convictions
- No criminal charges pending before the courts
- No criminal activity within the last three years (detected or undetected)
Education / Training
- Certificate from a Saskatchewan Justice-approved Security Guard Training Course (Preferred)
- Grade 12 Education Completion or GED equivalent (Preferred)
- Understanding of Criminal Justice or Criminology

Assets / Desired Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education with a college diploma/certification in Criminal Justice or Criminology
- Post-secondary education in Police and Investigation Studies or equivalent Training
- Pro-active and able to self-initiate work with strong organizational and decision-making skills
- Basic telecommunicator certification
- Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations
- Independent thinker with strong observation skills and ability to multi-task
