About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, Industrial Mechanics of the Shovel Crew will have the outstanding opportunity to help maintain our shovels and drills, potentially including North America's only P&H 4800 shovel. This is a full-time hourly position that offers an attractive 4x4 day shift schedule. Come experience what work life balance is all about!

The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.

In this role you will
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • In certain components of this role it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free seal
  • Work closely with all other trades to acquire the highest availability and reliability of our fleets
  • Perform all associated duties including regular scheduled preventative maintenance, couplings, alignments, major component exchanges, and diagnosing break down issues on the Shovel and drill fleet
Requirements
  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Previous mining experience is an asset
  • Comfortable working in an outdoor setting in all weather conditions

Hourly Wage: $52.73

Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location. It is calculated using a reasonably expected number of hours worked per year.
