Title: IC (initial cure) Machine Operator

Reports to: Manufacturing Team Leader

Hours of work: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday

Wage: $23.25/hr.

Job Purpose: To safely produce the required quantity and quality of parts on schedule in accordance with company specifications. Sets up and operates initial cure machine to cast fireplace logs

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Installs molds on machine, according to work order specifications, using hand tools.
• Prepares mixture of fiber and silica in batches according to formula. Fills hopper several times per day.
• Cycles machine.
• Removes filled mold from machine, and releases finished product.
• Store completed product on shelves provided.
• Check machine safety. Report issues with hydraulics or components to Team Leader.
• Quality control inspection.
• Operate machinery in accordance with OHSA and company standards. Incorporate LEAN manufacturing methodology.
• Sandblast molds as required.
• Complete daily inspections.
• Complete weekly/monthly cleaning requirements (hoppers, tanks, equipment).

Education And Experience

High School or GED or 3 - 5 years relevant manufacturing experience.

• 1 - 3 years previous machine operating experience.
• Computer Software Requirement: Basic computer skills.
• Must possess the ability to read blueprints and basic parts drawings. College level blueprint reading skills is an asset.
• Proficient in the use of measuring tools, such as verniers, calipers, tape measures, steel scales and protractors preferred.
• Able to perform mathematical calculations.
